Booster Club
Meetings
September 4, 2007
7:05 p.m.- meeting
called to order by Ms. Vera. She introduced
Aime Robins as the
new Booster Club President.
Ms. Vera
complimented the girls on a great job at the first
pep rally
and football game.
UIL rules for
practice hours were discussed. Also, TCHS policy
for study hall
during electives was discussed. Girls can also be
released for
tutoring sessions. Grades for officer tryouts must
be
75 or higher. Ms
Vera will discuss any grades below 80 to help
avoid the grades
falling below eligibility requirements.
This year’s trip
cost is estimated at $525/each, with payments due
as follows: 9/28
$200 deposit; 11/19 $150; and 1/14 $175.
Jay Moore discussed
the My Space site and the Topcats website.
Aime Robins
requested approval of the meeting minutes from
8/14/07.
Possible fundraising
opportunities are Applebee’s breakfast,
Chick-fil-A nights,
Dying to Donate. Fundraisers decided on were a
pancake breakfast at
TCHS and Chick-fil-A nights.
The community pep
rally will be held 9/12 from 6:30-9:00 p.m.
Additional parent
shirts can be ordered tonight.
Karen Rainey passed
out copies of the by-laws. The fiscal year
runs 5/1 to 4/30
each year. This year’s budget was approved.
Fundraisers
discussed that were mandatory are: Entertainment
books, candles, and
ads for the spring show. We can also use
Albertson’s and
Kroger cards.
The 2008 competition
trip to Galveston will begin 2/28 Thursday
and everyone will
depart at 5:00 a.m.; returning Sunday night. We
have a block rooms
at the Moody Gardens Hotel for $150/nt.
There will be
additional competition fees for other competitions.
Beth Gonzales
discussed concessions. We made over $2,000 at
the first football
game.
Additional new
business discussed concerned the order for
remaining girls
clothing items. They are not in yet.
The meeting was
